My bestie has run away to Iceland for the week and her travels have left me opining for my own getaway.
When my mind wanders to far away places, it only goes to one destination: Italy. The picturesque scenery, the ah-mazing food, the passionate people,… and did I mention the food?! I am beyond ready for my own Roman holiday.
I’m particularly smitten with Italy’s Amalfi Coast. It would be the ultimate girls’ getaway destination. You can flit between towns like Sorrento, Ravello and my favorite, the cliff slide village of Positano ~ they are all beyond stunning.
And best thing about life in Italy is its simplicity. All you need is a day dress, a pair of summer sandals, a journal {to capture your deep thoughts or favorite bottle of wine} and camera {with a fashionable strap of course!} and you’re good to go. I have to confess I wouldn’t be able to resist bringing the iPad – but only for the plane, I swear! Besides, the case can double as a clutch for the rest of trip.
I can see it now: Cassandra and I lounging on a terrace, glass of bubbly in hand, enjoying the view of the city cascading down to the ocean.

I traveled to Amalfi a year or so ago. Most amazing trip ever. Maxi dress, fedora and sandals were my uniform… miss it. Love the pic!

Italy is simply a dream come true. I am so glad I did a roadtrip through Italy last summer before moving to Melbourne! Missing it already! You should go!!!
I concur! Italy is definitely on my travel bucket list. We went to France earlier this year, to Cassis on the French Riviera (not far from Italy!) and it was THE most relaxing vacation I've ever been on. I'm pretty sure Italy would be even more amazing!

If I may, you might also want to check out my home island of Sardinia. Beautiful coastal views, emerald-green water… aaahh. Italy is much more than the Amalfi coast
I also love the whole area around the lakes in Northern Italy – two years ago we spent a few days driving up and down the Western coast of lake Garda, so many gorgeous places! This year we are going to do the same on Lake Como.
