We’ve talked about a lot things around here over the years, but never fitness – even though it’s another major passion of mine! An athlete and general health enthusiast for my entire life, I never turn away from an opportunity to try something new. It’s really the only way to keep working out interesting, right?
I’ve attempted everything from Bikram yoga, to Pilates to CrossFit to marathon running and most options in between. But it wasn’t until moving to San Francisco that I discovered GYROTONICS at a health and wellness studio called A Body of Work.
What first appeared to me like a medieval torture device turned out to be a really incredible invention that lets you work muscle tone, flexibility, balance and get your heart rate up all at the same time.
Working one-on-one with a trainer for hour long sessions, you go through a series of movements using pulleys, cranks and your own body weight that work everything from arms to abs to legs to butt. You know, the important parts!

work it lady!
Wow, I admire you! Looks like hard work!

I have never even heard of it. Looks a little bit to hard for my likings :p
Well, you have the figure to show for it! I live in SF as well and will check out the classes. There is also a new gym that opened in SOMA at Townsend..

BTW. do you have good decently priced recommendation for a facial spa in SOMA? Thank you!

I do pilates at Movement Lab in the mission and I've been wanting to try out the gyrontonics equipment. I might level up after you post your results! Happy workouts!
Good for you! I've never tried that but will check it out. Happy training!
Dang. Your trainer is rockin' some serious guns. Looks like it works! For now, I'm gonna have to stick to my P90X and X2 workouts. What I would really love to try is that suspended yoga. I wish it was available somewhere close.
Wow, you go girl! This sounds like it'll be awesome. Can't wait to hear how it goes.
