Hey hey, it’s Friday and I’m so ready to monkey around.
Luckily, I’m headed to Portland, OR to spend my weekend with my two nephews who are both under 3 years old, so I imagine a lot of horse play and other animal-themed fun is about to come my way!
I’m also hoping I might get to discover a new Portland haunt or two since it’s been nearly a year since I’ve been in town. Pacific North Westerners, do you have any recommendations for me??
Here are some other particularly delightful things around the web I recommend you check out:
~ Joanna’s column on balance. It’s for moms, but I found it totally relevant to me too
~ And her husband makes a fascinating point about making friends after 30
~ This pin
~ These summer reads {and I’d love it if you added to the list!}
~ The Golden Diamonds (she’s 18 people!)
~ Bambula
Here’s to feeling like a kid again!
Till Monday luvies,

Oh thank you so much for the mention, Erin!! Happy weekend!
Enjoy your weekend in Portland! I'm off to click through your no doubt top notch link suggestions!
Happy Weekend and thanks for the awesome links as always.
Lovejoy Bakery in the pearl district is my favorite place for a breakfast sandwich when I'm in Portland (lived there for two years and now live two hours away). Their deluxe egg/ bacon sandwich with the frisée and amazing cheese is so perfect! And if you go there, you must also stop by Barista and get a vanilla bean latte (with black cat roasted beans). Seriously! I'm drooling thinking about it!

Brunch is epic, but I can't imagine that two boys under three would have patience for lines, but if you get a chance to go to Screen Door, it's heaven! The Farmers Market on Saturday mornings is an absolute gem as well. One of my favorite mornings is stopping off for a cappuccino and taking it with me to the Farmer's Market. You really can't go wrong with some of the fantastic cocktail bars around town–Teardrop, Beaker and Flask, Central, Interurban, The Box Social..the list goes on. Of course that's if you should find an evening away from your two nephews. There's always the obligatory Powell's trip or a walk through Forest Park up to Pittock Mansion for the view! So much stuff to do! Enjoy! Happy Friday!
Goodness, HOW is that girl only 18?? Definitely not what I was doing when I was 18! Ha. Have a great weekend, Erin! xx

I'm a San Franciscan, but in my last trip to Portland, my amazing Portlander friends took me to:
•Salt and Straw for ice cream, (in flavors that just might beat out bi-rite for their inventive deliciousness)
•Whiskey Soda Lounge, which was actually set up to be a waiting spot for the amazing Pok Pok across the street. Both places serve the best wings I've ever had. Seriously.
• Broder for brunch – they serve Swedish bords which were delicious and health conscious, too.
• Little T for fresh pastries and fantastic coffee – but all the coffee in Portland is fantastic, isn't it? (I got the croque monseur and only managed to get one bite in before my friends stole the rest – so good.)
♥ Have fun!
