Monday Vacation Wear {Beauty Basics}

Please excuse the indulgence, but this week is going to be vacation themed. With our long-awaited Hawaiian getaway only days away, I feel like a little kid counting down to Christmas morning. As I make final preparations I thought I’d share some of my favorite getaway finds with you!

For today’s workwear post, I thought I’d change things up a bit by sharing some of my favorite skincare and make-up finds. Even if you aren’t beach bound, you can still have a sun-kissed summer face.

While I love the sun, it doesn’t get along quite so well with my skin, so much make-up must have list includes lots of sunscreen and natural make-up that’s going to provide maximum protection without leaving me too pale.

STEP 1 – PROTECT

Before I hit the beach each day I’ll certainly start with a serious slather of sunscreen, the higher SPF the better. I’m loving the options from SuperGoop, Chantecaille and Sunday Riley – all of which are paraben and sulfite free!

STEP 2 – GET GLOWING

I might be lounging on the beach but that doesn’t mean I’m not going to cover up a few trouble spots! A tinted moisturizer and light mineral powder should leave my skin looking fresh & clear. I’m particularly excited the 1-2 punch of Jouer Cosmetics Luminizing Tinted Moisturizer and Powder Foundation. Both are packed with SPF but going on really sheer. A little Laura Mercier bronzer across my forehead and chin and I’ll have a fool-proof faux glow in no time.

STEP 3 – PRETTY POUT

Although red lipstick has started to become a bit of a signature, I think I’ll stick with a pinky-neutral pout when lounging by the pool. Much lower maintenance. Daily wear will be restricted to gloss {the punchy pink Jouer adds just enough raspberry flush to make you look more awake!} and I’ll pack at least one pink lipstick for a dinner date.
