We’re kicking Wednesday off with some lovely design style from a place I’ve always dreamt of visiting – Australia. This post from Jaclyn of LittlePaperTrees, is only making my wanderlust worse!
Since moving to Australia five years ago, I’ve been on a secret mission to find my dream home. I find myself constantly falling in love with Sydney’s architecture, history and stunning backdrop which just so happens to provide endless options for interior lovers and house hunters alike. I’ve seen inner city terraces with Victorian charm and shabby chic country cottages that were right out of a magazine but nothing captures my heart like a true Aussie beach shack.
It should come as no surprise then that I found my dream home by flicking through an issue of Inside Out magazine and discovering the home of furniture designer, Mark Tuckey.
Far from a ‘shack’ this beautiful, eclectic home, sits right on the water and captures the true essence of bohemian beach chic. Can’t you just picture lounging around in that living room after a day at the beach and a cold glass of wine in your hand? Heaven.
You can recreate Mark’s relaxed interior by having a neutral background filled with timber hues, bright pops of color, unexpected bits and pieces and a perfect mix of both modern and vintage furniture. The only thing that might be tough to recreate are those beautiful ocean views!
