Live Here, Decorate With This {Cozy Chic}

The herringbone floors in this bedroom had me at hello. Chris Olson, of Momothon Blog has some seriously glamorous taste. I’d happily crawl into that bed and stay there for a very very long time!

From Chris:

Living in Colorado has its perks—amazing mountain views—but at 7,000 feet in elevation, the sun sets behind our mountains earlier and earlier with each passing day. The creeping dusk has me thinking about cocooning in a cozy and chic bedroom where I could, perhaps, shack up and write a bestselling novel. Finding a dreamy French chateau meets glamorous penthouse look seems impossible, but when I found this blue and white bedroom with the pop of pink velvet I was immediately taken.

While I won’t be moving to Paris anytime soon, here are few things that would make my current bedroom très irrésistible:

1) Banded Glass Table Lamp | Terrain; 2) Lanky Giraffe Bust | Anthropologie; 3) Circle Jig Mirror | Anthropologie; 4) Lollia Candles by Margot Elena | Lollia Life; 5) Rose Pandora Settee | Horchow; 6) Harrington Metal Accent Table | Bombay & Co; 7) Colored Dots Glass Spheres | Pier 1 Imports; 8) Classic Whites Pillow in Navy | Serena & Lily; 9) Catalina Bedding Collection | Serena & Lily

Live Here, Decorate With This {Bold & Beautiful}

Color-phobes, I’ve got the cure for you. This post will help you ease color into your decor. Thanks to Zoe of Eat Breathe Live Color for brightening our week!

From Zoe:

It’s no secret I’m a color lover, I have a blog called Eat Breathe Live Color so it’s pretty much a given I’m obsessed with all different sorts of hues. My home used to be painted with a myriad of color, but as my style has evolved and matured, I’m opting now for more neutral walls. This allows me to bring in pops of color with fabric, accessories and whatever else I can get my hands on.

When I first saw jewelry and housewares designer Tina Frey’s apartment I nearly fell over. In fact, I wanted to move right in. It’s the perfect inspiration room for my version of Erin’s Live Here, Decorate With This. With its white walls, white couch and even a white dog it serves as an ideal canvas for layering color. And then there is that Jonathan Adler coffee table with the most beautiful blue lacquer you have ever seen! So as I’m imagining Tina moving out and my family moving in I’ve made a list of how I can bring some more color into an already beautiful space.

Let’s break it down.

When adding pops of color to my space I look first for textiles, such as pillows and throws. And in my opinion nobody does textiles better than John Robshaw and Madeline Weinrib. I’m not shy about mixing colors and patterns because if you can’t have fun in your home with color where can you? I chose to bring in some more blue to the room, but I also wanted to add pops of yellow for fun! The Calyspo St. Barth linen throw is reversible with different tonal shades so it’s like two throws for the price of one – I’ll take it!

Now on to some accessories. I’m in love with those wooden bowls featured in the inspiration room. Wood brings a sense of warmth to a space and West Elm’s rocking bird brings both warmth and whimsy. I’m also big on air plants lately. They are perfect for a black thumb like me because they need very little care and they are just so cool to look at!

Lastly, I’ll definitely be buying Sugar Paper’s letterpress art print for the wall, some great graphic coasters to use for my house warming party, and of course a chew toy for that adorable white dog, Zoe, who just happens to share my name (it’s fate I tell you!) And now I’m all set to move right in!

Thanks Erin for the opportunity to bring a little bit of Eat Breathe Live Color to Apartment 34! And since you are actually moving into a new space, enjoy and happy moving day!
