Man of Style {Courtney Out Loud}

Since we’ve got a personal style theme going on today, I thought there’d be no better time to bring our next Man of Style, Courtney Lake of Courtney Out Loud. Getting to grab drinks with this dapper gent frequently I can attest to his astute knowledge of the style world, as well as his impressive shoe and bag collection!

Erin knows the quickest way to a gay man’s heart is through his ego and inviting me to participate in her “Man of Style” series now places her pretty high on my awesome sauce list.  But now having this new moniker of being a “man of style” I had to think about what the hell is my style?  Looking through my blog, Courtney Out Loud, I realize that my style is all about sense of humor and the statement piece.

Bold. In Your Face. But Not Serious.  It’s the way I dress and it’s the way I like to decorate.  Don’t be shy about what you love.  And honestly folks, life is too short not to laugh a little.  I have a rule that applies to all aspects of my life – if there isn’t one thing I am wearing or see in a room that doesn’t make me smile, chuckle or flat out laugh, then I need to start off.

As our friend Gore Vidal said….”Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.”

  1. I love Courtney! He’s great, definitely a sense of humor which is AWESOME. And wow, that buffet is incredible!

  2. Courtney has fantastic taste, and I love the elegant whimsy he brings to his spaces! I’m absolutely in love with the Jonathan Adler Naughty Lamp, which just has to have a home in my new “handsome” home office. (I’m going with a masculine theme in there, so it’s got to have some humor.)

  3. I didn’t know Courtney so thanks for introducing him, he really has a lot of personality & style!!!
    And this Agate Chandelier is just amazing ♥ I don’t know if it’s too late to add it to my list for Xmas …
