Despite the best of intentions, I find myself suddenly NYC-bound today! While the big city always intrigues me, I was hoping to avoid experiencing it in 20 degree temperatures. No such luck.
So I’m off, set to brave a full week of frigid air. Over the weekend I faced the daunting task of packing for said weather. It’s a tough task to create professional looks that also fend off frost bite! I only wish I’d had a closet filled with the new Bouchra Jarrar Couture Collection to take with me!
The crisp tailoring and multi-layered hardware on her pieces gives the looks a strong edge; exactly what you need for running from meeting to meeting.
They’re put together and classy, but won’t distract from what you actually have to say. We want people to remember that more than what we looked like, right ladies?! I think layers are going to be my savior. I can pull pieces on and off as I go from cab to highrise to happy hour!

Follow along on Instagram – I’m going to post an #NYC OOTD throughout the week!!
And for anyone in the mood to do some serious splurging, you can get pieces from the Bouchra Jarrar collection on Moda Operandi for one more day!
Here’s to keeping warm in style,

That line looks so perfect. I’m in Connecticut, so the weather is pretty similar and every single peice here looks so warm but put together (nothing like the bulky sweaters that are my current uniform).
yikes, pricey. love those trousers though—have fun and stay warm here on the east coast
Fab outfits! Those pumps are a splurge but so worth it!
It’s just as cold here in Maryland. Hard to stay warm and chic at the same time. I love your picks, especially the chunky black and white sweater!
It is pretty cold here in NYC – I think your layering plan should work pretty well though

welcome to the east coast! your post made me chuckle a little bit in that east coasters are much more practical about winter fashion. as horrible as it sounds, a lot of us, including those who are very fashionable, wear shapeless puffy coats, like NorthFace, just to keep warm. Your picks are very helpful and gets me in the mood to be a little more fashionable during the cold days. I also strongly recommend cashmere, cashmere, cashmere
