Happy Weekend!

We all know life is better with friends. Having fun, inspiring, supportive people around you really makes all the difference in the world.

But do you ever have a hard time accepting help? I know I’ve resisted it. Help felt like a four-letter word to me. Something that showed weakness rather than growth.

One the greatest lessons I’ve learned {often the hard way}, is that you must be aware of your strengths and weaknesses, but instead of wasting time on trying to fix your shortcomings, you’re much better off investing energy in maximizing your strengths.

Then you can invoke that four-letter word, help, to support the areas where you might be a little lacking. When you do that your whole world changes!

I’m already seeing this first-hand because the Apartment 34 team is expanding. You may remember a few weeks back when we put out a call for interns and an assistant? Well our new team has convened and I couldn’t be happier to have Bianca, Kelly, Ashley and Jessica aboard. Don’t be surprised when you see their stellar work popping up around here. With this great group I really do believe that the sky is now the limit!

There’s already been so much going on around here this week and we’re only gettin’ warmed up! Here are a few fun things you might have missed:

~ I have to thank Victoria for her lovely shoutout

~ We were all about the Loft Life this week

~ Have you shopped our Yard Sale yet??

~ My girl Caitlin debuted her design biz in C Magazine

~ We’ve also had amazing Apartment 34 sponsors for February. If you haven’t checked out Weston Wear and Bae Home & Design don’t delay. Your closet and home will thank you!

Now I’m off to the flower market to prep for the Loft’s official housewarming! But be sure to check back over the weekend because we’ll be sharing an extra little inspiration on Sunday!

Till Monday,

  1. It takes courage to ask for help. But I have found that it makes life much easier and I get so much more out of whatever I’m working on if someone helps me and shows me the right ways! : )
Plus it saves a lot of wasted energy, time & frustration!

  2. I’ve struggled soooo much in the past asking for help. I think it’s because it seems like a weakness, as if we’re saying we can’t cope alone which is kind of irrelevant really. I like the idea of playing to your strengths. Much more fun than worrying about your weaknesses!

  3. I’ve had to learn to ask for help, designing a website took a village, I couldn’t have done it without all the help I got.

  4. This is such a great post. Friends can really improve your life so much, especially when they are the right kind of friends, who are supportive and caring. Help is hard to ask for, but it can always be useful. Such a great way to get the most out of life!
