Idea To Steal {5}

Styling shelves is an art form all its own. It’s like curating a personal museum – all the artifacts from your life on display for daily enjoyment. But it’s also a delicate balancing act to tell a compelling story without it all looking like one big hot mess.

Thankfully, the  process of creating the perfect arrangement  is made much easier when the shelves themselves are works of art. This week’s Idea to Steal is modular shelves!

The Muuto Stacked Shelving System is the ultimate decor DIY.  Be it kids toys, an entertainment center or a personal library you can make a neatly measured and geometric stack or play with a random assortment and find out what happens as you go. The system also lets you mix and match with color and shape, all with the simple snap of a little metal clip.

It’s like grown-up legos. I, for one, am ready to play! Are you?

  1. totally agree! And you can built on it over time! It’s the perfect alternative to built ins. it custom, and portable!

  2. This is such a great idea! We’re in this mode right now and starting to compile boxes {in the shape of wine crates} as shelving. Love this idea much more! We’ve got so many little objects from our travels and random collection that would fit so well in these!

  3. Such a great idea – and perfect for someone like me who likes to change things around constantly!
