Black and white appears to be having its hayday,* be it in fashion or decor. So it seems only logical we extend the trend to food for this week’s Cook Here, Eat This!
My love for a crisp white kitchen is well documented, but I’m head over heels for the look of the two-toned option below. Side note: the mix of organic elements like the reclaimed hardwood floors, vintage ladder and topiary soften the kitchen’s modern edge perfectly.
And I’ve found a similarly color-coded sweet treat! These dressed up Oreos are the perfect option as they require only four ingredients, are no-bake and can be ready in 15 minutes!
White Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Cookies by Top With Cinnamon
Ingredients
16 to 20 oreo cookies
7 to 10 oz white chocolate
3 tbsp of coffee grounds
Directions
Twist cookies to separate and scrape off the cream filling. Melt and temper (directions on top with cinnamon here) the white chocolate, then stir in the mint extract well. Dip a cookie half in the melted chocolate, turn to coat using a fork. Use the fork to remove the cookie from the chocolate, tap it on the edge of the bowl a few times and transfer to a lined cookie sheet. Sprinkle a little coffee onto the chocolate-dipped oreo before the chocolate sets.
Leave at room temperature until set.
While you probably can’t get away with nothing but black & white in your diet, I will be trying these cookies for my next need to impress event {because they look good and are hard to screw up, two things I love!}. Thankfully, no one will fault you for an all white kitchen so I’m adding this one my dream home list asap.
What do you think? Do you like monochromatic kitchens or more colorful ones?

Great pairing today! I love the stark contrast between black and white… in decor or food.
Those Oreos look so tasty all dressed up! Love the black and white.
So happy to hear the black and white love! I’m thinking a bowl of these cookies on my desk will keep it beautiful and give me something to munch on!!
To save yourself the work of scraping cream off oreos, you could just buy plain chocolate wafer cookies. They do exist!! I’ve used them to make pie crusts before
And, as always, such a beautiful and inspiring post.
eeep! what do you do with all that oreo filling erin? such a crime – it’s the best bit!
xx
I don’t think you can ever go wrong with a black and white combo. In decor or food. I’m just sayin’
Well, if you’re like Izy of Top with Cinnamon, you still eat the cream filling! Perhaps spread it on something else??
And I might have to look for wafer cookies Alicia, but I wonder, do they have as much flavor?
Yum those cookies look deeeelicccioussss.
