Blogs We Loved This Month!

It seems like everyday I am stumbling upon a gorgeous blog that I haven’t visited before. Understandably, with thousands and thousands of blogs popping up daily, it’s hard to keep up with all of them. With busy schedules, we tend to only stick to a certain few daily reads. Oh, how we’re missing out though!

I’ve decided it’s time to see what else is out there and share some blog love. These may be new blogs to you or are one of your all-time favorites – either way they’ve inspired us so much that they’ve made it to our roundup of Blogs We Loved This Month {our new reincarnation of Noteworthy Newbies!}.

Blogs-We-Love-July-Besotted

Besotted is a blog full of long and thoughtful posts, creative ideas, typography and books, to name a few.

Why we love it: Miss B has her own shop of sophisticated paper goods and bespoke handmade stamps. She also has a cute Frenchie and impeccable taste!

Blogs-We-Love-July-M-Stetson

M Stetson is a blog to go to for beautiful house tours and design inspiration.

Why we love it: awesome features on architects and photographers, great layouts, and cute family. Expecting baby Stets this Winter, I have a feeling we’ll all become wrapped up in the journey of bringing home baby!

Blogs-We-Love-July-Honey-Pie-Living

If you’re not familiar with Love Warriors, you need to be. Honey Pie Living Etc is the blog of one of their photographers, Hannah. I have what we call a blog crush – think etherial, bohemian, neutral goodness in each post.

Why we love it: Her images are as dreamy and stunning as she is.

Blogs-We-Love-July-Tuula

Tuula is the travel and style blog to go to for any type of inspiration. I’m positive that nobody leaves this site without bookmarking it to their favorites. Believe me, this girl has got some serious style.

Why we love it: large images, a closet to covet and getaways to dream about. Plus, she shares all of her favorite vintage stores from around the world!

Blogs-We-Love-July-Bambula

I can’t understand a thing that is going on over at Bambula {since it’s all in Finnish!}, but I don’t need to – the pictures speak for themselves. We can’t get enough of the Scandinavian styling and design on this blog.

Why we love it: full of original inspiration, vignettes and DIY’s from around her home!

I hope you all get a chance to add these to your daily reads. They do not disappoint. What are some of your favorite blogs? We’re dying to know. Big or small, we love coming across new sources of inspiration!

Enjoy the Dog Days of Summer in Style

How does time fly so quickly? Work has been go-go-go and apparently so has summer. I can’t believe that it’s already the last day of July and I have yet to be poolside! Thankfully, there is still some time left to sit back, enjoy the warm weather and relax. Today we’ve rounded up everything you’ll need to do just that!

Poolside-Must-Haves-2

This summer we are all for mixing high and low pieces. I’m a big proponent of investing in pieces that you can wear all year long and save on trendier items that tend to be more seasonal. The key is to keep the high pieces classic and the lower-priced items more trendy. Let’s break it down!

First, be sure to grab a good book {we’re currently reading this one!}, give yourself a pedi {try this foot scrub!} and don’t forget our go-to Turkish towel!

Poolside-Must-Haves-3

Then you’ll want to pack up all your pool-side essentials. They include:

Tote: Schlep all your accessories around in a basic tote that you can use all year long. We love this Job & Boss shibori tote from a local San Francisco designer.

Bathing Suit: For us in the Bay Area, bathing suit weather is a tad rare. So I say no need to go for the big buck. I love the idea of mixing and matching sets! Why not go for a trendier neon on the bottom?

Sunglasses: Unless you’re known to lose them, I say invest. A classic cat eye never goes out of style and is perfect for summer! This Tory Burch pair is sure to last you for years.

Sandals (similar): Go for something neutral and simple to get the maximum amount of wear out of them. The t-strap style will go with everything!

Sunscreen: Invest in your skin and do not forget the sunscreen, please! We love Sun Bum‘s cute wooden bottle!

Clutch: A vibrant print screams summer. We love the intricacy of this beaded one, but any fun, trendy pattern will work. Keep your lipgloss, keys, and iPad in there, or anything just to have an excuse to carry it!

Poolside-Essentials

I hope you are inspired to take some time to yourself in these final few weeks of summer. I know I am. It’s that time of year to relish in the feeling of waking up and having absolutely nothing to do but enjoy the day. We just booked a week-long vacation in Ojai for the end of August and I can not wait to read by the pool, sip some lemonade {spiked, let’s be real!} and do exactly that. The countdown has officially begun!

4:00 PM Fashion Fix: {Stella Jean Swimwear}

Just as we were ending our travel theme, I discovered this amazing swimwear collection from Stella Jean {thanks to coco + kelley’s post} and knew I couldn’t end the month without sharing! From the head scarves to the arms full of jumbo-sized bangles, I love the West African/Caribbean vibe that is happening here. The prints are bold and confident and have me dreaming of sandy Jamaican beaches.

Aren’t these bright prints great? I also love the mix of patterns in each piece’s piping. What can I say, I’m a sucker for attention to detail! I also adore the oversized ties that make each bikini a bit more flirty and feminine. I’m definitely feeling inspired to put a more glamorous spin on my poolside looks. Who’s ready to rock this modern twist on a retro silhouette on their next vacay?!
