I have a crush. On a couch. And a lamp. And, well, really on every single thing Blu Dot has got going on. If you haven’t already met, please let me be the first to introduce you.

Blu Dot was kind enough to invite me in to tour their space just before they opened their doors to bright and shiny new San Francisco showroom. The modern furniture company has long been a favorite of mine and it was so much fun being able to touch and see the pieces in person for the first time, not to mention get a behind the scenes look at the process of introducing Blu Dot to my adopted city!

Well, everything Medora had to say about the company was so clear while touring the new space. You could really see the craftsmanship that went into the pieces.

I’ve long had my eye on the raw copper chairs and to see them in person solidified my love. They’re purposefully kept uncoated to patina over time, really showcasing the character and life of the piece – proof of Blu Dot’s belief that design should be beautiful but also approachable and livable.

In case you couldn’t tell, I really had no problem making myself feel at home {who needs the loft – I could just live here}. I mean, it’s hard not to get comfortable and imagine your home full of Blu Dot. The pieces are meant to be touched, copper meant to show fingerprints and sofas longing to be lounged on. I think I found my dream dining table!

It’s all in the details with these Blu Dot pieces. With streamlined modern designs, it’s critical to keep the little things in mind. Things like adding horizontal leather drawer pulls and exposed brass zippers. We’re happy to report that nothing is overlooked here.

The final placement of the mirrors went up by the end of our visit {thanks to my much required help – not really!} and we’re happy to announce that Blu Dot is open for business!! With it just blocks away from the loft this could be a very dangerous friendship.

If you’re in town, Blu Dot is one more amazing reason to visit the Mission District!
