‘Tis the Season for a Party!

Last week, as I was sifting through mail and finding pretty little Christmas cards in between ads and bills, it dawned on me- shoot, I never did press submit on that Christmas card order! Crap, crap, crap. I frantically went through drawers to find the undated cards from last year {that, confession, I never got around to sending out either!} and when I found them, well, they looked like, last year- not nearly capturing the fun energy that came with 2013.

Disappointed, I was so close to grinching out of holiday cards {again!} when I realized- there was plenty of time left to have some festive fun. We could create our very own digital Christmas card! So we headed out and among the pretty pines we found plenty of holiday cheer!

I’m a firm believer that when it comes to holiday dressing, you should always wear what makes you comfortable. There is no need to throw on the shiniest dress ever known to mankind nor that ugly sweater someone always makes you drag out this time of year. In fact, you can take pieces you’d rock any day of the week and simply dress them up with some fun accessories and a little pizazz!

It’s well documented that I almost never wear dresses unless they’re required. So my perfect holiday outfit consists of a play on the tuxedo! To do the trick, I found these amazing cropped tuxedo pants {that could double as chic workout pants with tennis shoes} yet they look uber fierce with a kickass pump. I love the white stripe down the side – they’ll elongate your legs for days!

The other tuxedo essential? A white collared shirt. Finding one with an embellished collar is a bonus. The jewels are perfect for a party and inspired me to keep going with the glam. So I added a couple of my favorite Margaret Elizabeth jewels & my favorite Rag & Bone blazer for an extra layer of glitz. A leopard print Santa hat completed the look {I couldn’t resist!}

Speaking of Santa hats, you mustn’t forget your winter accessories. The girls layered up with gloves and beanies. Jessica stayed warm in a soft sweater dress and tights. Bianca mixed prints and patterns {her green snakeskin print blouse is a perfect play on holiday colors!} and Ashley kept things neutral in champagne party pants!

I really hope you’ve enjoyed our foray into fashion with Old Navy this year. We’ve certainly had a ball concepting the shoots and coming up with fun ways to create inspirational outfits, but with pieces that you can run out and buy right now – no waiting and saving up required! Although we know it’s still six days away, we wanted to be the first to say from our hearts to yours, we wish you a very, merry holiday!

We’ll be back with more fashionable fun in 2014. We hope you’re as excited as we are!

  2. Thanks for the love! Happy holidays and here’s to a fun ride in 2014!!

  3. Love the idea of a digital Christmas card! My friend produced a video Christmas card with his family called Christmas Jammies that has now gone viral. It’s a hoot and shares so much more than a card.
