One thing I’m looking forward to about moving into our house is having a backyard. Outdoor space is a rare gem in San Francisco and I’m planning on taking full advantage. I can finally host more than three people at a time! Dreams of endless dinner parties, BBQs and copious amounts of rosé are dancing through my head. I’m counting down the days until I can set my first outdoor spring table.

I’ve been crushing on this tablescape for a while now. It’s proof that putting together a gorgeous spring party doesn’t have to be complicated. Your decorating can be nice and simple and your table will look anything but basic. Keeping your details refined and well edited will actually have more impact.

You don’t have to rent special tableware or bust out fine china. Just reach into your cupboards. Crisp white dishware, modern glassware and classic cutlery stand out against a pretty plywood tabletop. You’ve got mother nature to add most of your color anyway. A few fresh spring blooms in apothecary bottles sprinkled down the table eliminate the need for fancy floral arranging. To elevate the look, leave a printed menu and a touch a greenery to mark each placesetting.

Since evening temperatures can still be a bit cool this time of year, I love the idea of layering cozy moroccan rugs under the table. You can cozy up with an after dinner drink and lounge on floor pillows and stay warm with some throws. It’s really that easy.

Here’s how you can quickly replicate this entire look!

All you need now is a signature cocktail and a few easy spring dishes to serve family style and you can sit back, relax and enjoy getting back outside after a long winter. After nearly a year of doing a lot of baby talk, I’m salivating for a long luxurious night of adult company. I might not even wait until all of our boxes are unpacked!
