I’ve heard people say happiness is a choice. Whether that’s actually true {given brain chemistry and all}, it certainly is an empowering thought.

I’m traveling to remember someone’s well-lived life today, and such experiences are always a great reminder to cherish what you have while you have it, because life is all too fleeting.

A long time ago, the husband and I started a habit of  telling one another what we’re excited about for the day before we the leave the house. It’s with renewed appreciation that I cherish that daily insight into someone I care about. It makes me wish I could send a massive text to all the people I’d like to stay better connected to and ask them the same daily question.

But for now, I’ll ask you. What are you excited for? Even in the darkest of moments, you can find something. I hope you hold onto it and cherish to the fullest.

Here’s to paying attention to life’s details.

Till Monday,

  1. What a nice post Erin! Well when it comes to me and mu hubby we are both excited about moving in to our first and own London pad 🙂 yay… Cannot wait to start our new project:) have a good weekend xxxx

  2. I agree that anticipating something great can work wonders for the mood. I’m excited for my trip to Florida this month! And my I ♥ Makeup giveaway is still open for entries! 🙂

  3. I’m excited for the small olive-sized human growing in my belly – the olive that my husband and I miraculously created. And I’m amazed that my body knows how to do this – without any help from me. Thought it’s currently making my days a living hell – I know it’ll be worth it in the end.

  4. So excited to hear what everyone’s anticipating! Wiola, good luck on the move across the pond! xLoveHappyx, so jealous, I would love to be enjoying some Florida sunshine. ShanainSF, congrats on the new baby, it’s definitely going to be worth it in the end!

  5. Love this post Erin. Ironically today would have been my grandpa’s 100th birthday…miss him so much. I’m cherishing my memories of him today 🙂

  6. What an awesome tradition! I’m going to tell my husband about that. We regularly do a highlight of our day at the end of the day, but I like the idea of flipping that on its head.
