If you don’t know Maiyet, let me introduce you! The line focuses on sourcing and helping elevate global artisans from far off places like India, Kenya, Peru and Mongolia. The goal is to give customers a rare piece of work so that they can be in tune with the hands that touched it and inspired that they’ve made a difference in the world. Maiyet recently teamed up with a non-profit organization, Nest, to promote entrepreneurship and dignity to the places that need it most.

This short video really drew me into the brand. You get to see the craftsmanship first hand through an Indonesian artist creating a scarf for the Maiyet collection. It’s truly fascinating – take a look!

Isn’t it amazing how the scarf is crafted with so much detail? To get such intricate designs, they use a traditional Indonesian wax dyeing method. Inspired by their gorgeous pieces and equally beautiful campaign in India, these looks are the perfect inspiration to kick off the week!

Want to get your hands on some of these global goodies? They are an investment, but a worthy one!

Maiyet’s bags are my absolute favorite. The leather is soft and supple and the structure is instantly recognizable. I love the modern and exotic flair that the shape brings to an outfit. So chic!

I hope I have time to visit their new store while I’m here in New York. If you’re so lucky to be visiting soon, they have a brand new location in Soho that needs to go on your must-see list! It’s certainly on mine.
