It’s not every day that we get to travel to far away places, but to celebrate our ode to Travel this month, we wanted to turn to a new place for inspiration. That’s why we are so excited to share an all-new travel themed photography series with you!

We’re kicking it off with a photographer near and dear to my heart. Jose Villa is one of the most respected photographers in his field {which makes me so lucky to have had him shoot my wedding!}. He has masterfully trained his eye to see a subject, a love, or a sunset in a way that you have never seen it before.

Jose has managed to capture moments from a people, culture, and place that is very much a mystery to many Americans. Through his lens those of us who will never make it to the time warped island are able to witness an unparalleled beauty that is: Cuba.

Once deemed a Communist enemy to the United States, many thought a post-Fidel Cuba would never be possible. The country has been through so much turmoil and oppression, experiencing mass exodus and a standstill economy for decades. The people have experienced life in such a different way than we do.

I feel hopeful for the future of Cuba and the possibility of one day touring the European-like infrastructure, tasting the food, swimming in the crystal green waters, and watching some of the most beautiful cars pass on the street. For now, we are so lucky to have these beautiful images as inspiration! Check out the full gallery here.
