It can be hard to remember to call your mom sometimes but it can be even harder to remember Mother’s Day, especially when you are one! But the big day is this coming Sunday, so I thought I’d help you out by sharing some last second gift ideas that I’m 100% confident any mom in your life would actually want. You can consider this a not so subtle reminder that all the moms out there have enough mugs and candles already. If you’re a mom, feel free to forward this post to anyone in your life who might need a little hint!

Cane furniture has been having a resurgence for a little while now, but the best options have either been vintage or high street attempts to recreate cane pieces. Until now. I’ve continued to go down the Scandinavian furniture rabbit hole since my trip to Sweden last month and this is one of my favorite discoveries. Meet the furniture collection Cane.

This collection takes the ages old tradition of caning – one of the oldest forms of furniture making – and puts a distinctly modern spin on the ancient furniture making technique, creating pieces with chic shapes and a variety of modern colors. The designers, Ada Chirakranont and Worapong Manupipatpong, are Thai-born and now work in Bangkok but you can see the influence of their Scandinavian-based design training.

This collection feel light and airy, playful and vibrant but also distinctly modern. The pieces’ caned surface allows light and air to flow through the furniture while casting fine patterned shade across the furnished space.

If you’re looking to invest in a lovely piece of caned furniture – or maybe an entire collection for your house this summer, look no further. I’m sure these pieces will become classics coveted 50 years from now.

I often dream of traveling to France, immersing myself in Paris’ antique markets, strolling through booth after both, leisurely treasure hunting and unearthing that perfect home decor gem that has long alluded me. Then I remember I have a pre-schooler, a puppy, this site, parent-teacher conferences, 4,000 unanswered emails, a mile long to-do list and oh yeah, I don’t speak French.

Thankfully, I can turn to experts instead. Enter Elsie Green and Victoria from SFGIRLBYBAY. The two have a similar dream and many resources with which to actualize it. Elsie Green is an amazing Bay Area-based purveyor of all things vintage French country which you may have seen here. And Victoria has created Super Marché, her own highly curated collection of French vintage finds. Last weekend San Francisco was lucky to play host to Le Petit Appartement – a pop-up combining both Elsie Green & Super Marché as well as additional friends. The pop-up was like stepping into a perfectly curated other world and I really didn’t want to leave. Scroll and you’ll understand why.

The blank canvas of a studio space was brilliantly transformed into a boudoir, dining room, kitchen and living area, replete with collections of ceramics, brass candle holders, vintage portraits. Louis Philippe mirrors and one of a kind curiosities. You could browse dressers and rompers from Encourage Vintage and accessorize with a perfect pair of Freda Salvador shoes. I truly appreciate the feeling of being transported to the middle of the French country side.

Vintage books as placemats – genius.

Yes indeed, the dramatic oversized Prix Ribbons are everything.

Le Petit Appartement was a rather magical moment. It’s only downside is that existed for just one day. But fear not. I’ve already heard rumors that Le Petit Appartement might pop up again sometime. Maybe near you!

As if Leanne Ford wasn’t already my design spirit animal, her new lighting collection for Target, which launches today, speaks directly to my heart! It’s timeless, it’s modern, it’s funky, it’s perfect.

Leanne is becoming the grande dame of repurposing found materials to DIY her own light fixtures. Thankfully, she’s made it easier for the rest of us, creating Rope Net Pendants that look vintage or found. No one has to know your light is from Target.

An oversized pendant is universally chic and timeless. This one comes in white, black and brass. I love the look of the pendant hung really close to the ceiling.

While there’s a distinct boho vibe to many of these lights, Leanne proves that you mix and match styles to create truly modern spaces that will feel current long after the current boho craze fades.

While this collection just launched today, with prices all under $100, I have strong feeling it’s going to sell out rurl quick. So get to shopping right now friends. I know I am!

Who says everything spring related has to be pastel and frilly? I’m loving the rich tones, sumptuous texture and muted colors in the new Ferm Living Spring / Summer 2019 collection. It has me ready to clear out my house to make space for….well just about every single new piece, like right.now.

I’m trying to decide between a gorgeous bowl in brown Bidasar marble or a stunning asymmetrical side table. Since it’s going to be raining all weekend, I’m going to give myself plenty of time to shop.

There were a few other rurl good launches in the design world this week. Be sure to check them out below!

Have you seen Leanne Ford’s new lighting collection for Target? Also seriously good – and seriously affordable.

My girl Victoria of SFGIRLBYBAY fame has designed her own collection for The Inside. The twelve prints, which you can use to upholster beds, benches and side chairs have fun, poppy patterns inspired by her love of vintage and inspiration trips to France.

And if light and bright is more your thing, then you’re going to love the new line of wallpaper Taylor Sterling of Glitter Guide created for Lulu & Georgia. It’s seriously stunning.

It’s official. For once, the internet is of no use to me. Every year I say I’m going to get all my shopping done in the first two weeks of the holiday season and here we are, with 72 hours to go and I haven’t checked everyone off my Christmas list. Whomp. And we’re officially out of time for online purhcases to arrive before Christmas. But thankfully there are a bevy of amazing brick & mortar stores in the Bay Area, filled with treasures that my peeps will love.

Yes, I actually have to get dressed and leave my house – gasp. But seeing the smiles on my family member’s faces will make it all worth it. Here are some of my favorite gems with all you fellow last minute shoppers out there. And if you’re not in San Francisco you should bookmark these for your next visit to this fair city!

Self-care is all the rage these days. From meditation apps, to palo santo bundles popping up at Urban Outfitters, the tools used by the truly devout have made their way into the mainstream. But that’s certainly not a bad thing. We could all benefit from a little extra mindfulness. I’ve rounded up the must-have tools to help everyone on your list get their wellness on.

1. Crystal Clear. For thousands of years, ancient civilizations believed that the powers of crystals could release mental, physical and spiritual blockages and that each crystal has unique properties and energies. This set is intended to help boost happiness. They’re the perfect size to hold in your hand while you do your daily affirmations.

2. Om. This meditation bundle is like your mindfulness starter kit. It includes five incense sticks and vegan soap to help you clear your thoughts and cleanse your soul.
