While I’ve sung minimalism’s praises many a-time around here, I was immediately drawn in by the warmth that exudes from this highly edited, yet approachable Copenhagen loft. Also by the light fixtures. You’re going to want to scroll to see these babies.

When you’re working with a contiguous floor plan like a loft, it’s wise to stick to a cohesive color palette as your eye sees everything at once. And while this loft is all white (obviously), it doesn’t feel stark. The use of a creamy, matte hue on the walls helps soften the space. So do the raw wide plank oak floors – they’re almost white, but noooot quite.

The apartment is furnished almost entirely in natural materials which lend to its approachable feel; solid wood tables, a linen sofa, custom cabinetry, ceramic light fixtures, paper lanterns – even a rare raffia lamp about which I’m obsessed. These elements create a sense of harmony and add to the easy vibe. I like this juxtaposition of the modern and the rustic. It doesn’t feel overly cabin-y. The balance is just right.

Each area in the 860 sq feet is punctuated with something eye-catching. A gorgeous Caprani floor lamp in the dining area. A classic Noguchi lamp atop a side table. An iconic Breuer chair by the couch. It helps that this loft’s owner, Caroline Feiffer, is a designer in her own right, helping brands communicate their values through visual means. She trains an exacting eye to bring items she loves into her space. As she sums up perfectly, “your personality quickly shines through in a loft apartment with one big room only. So surround yourself with what you truly need and value, because you don’t have space for unnecessary objects.”

Everything in this house feels very necessary. Nothing is superfluous. Color me obsessed. Sans color of course.
