For some of us, stepping outside of our interior decor comfort zones can be as nerve-wracking as chopping off your hair. So different! So defining! So permanent! Eeeek {cue cold feet setting in}! There’s no doubt that selecting furniture is a draining task as it is, so when it comes to trying something a little more adventurous, it’s often easy to chicken out and stick with what you know. If you are a furniture commitment-phobe like us, here’s a way to incorporate some boldness into your decor without going over the top: accent chairs!
Chairs are like the jewelry for your room. They allow you to play with trends, color, texture or avantgarde styling without going all in. Going bold with your chair selection will give an otherwise classic space the interest and originality you’re craving without being overpowering! We love the funky, lip-like look of a Bertoia Diamond chair nestled in a bright corner {HALLO!}. Or the clean lines of a Scandinavian inspired design – beautiful enough to make a statement yet calm enough to sit in a room full of neutrals. And since every room deserves a sweet-looking seat, here are some statement chairs that we’re dying to sit our booties in!!

I love a good accent chair! I have a black velvet mid-century circle chair and I love it! No one ever sits in it, but it certainly adds a lot of pizzazz to my living room!

These are gorgeous!! If only I had enough space in my apartment to add an accent chair and make my place pop. Thanks for sharing!!
Cheers,

I’ve been obsessed with the Ansel chair since it arrived at MGBW
Love this idea! Accent chairs are awesome for bringing color into the space. I always love adding pillows and blankets too.
I love #6 and #7. I am currently between residences, but I can’t wait to get started on styling my next home. One benefit of the statement chair you didn’t mention: it is a great way to add a lot of style for your dollar! We sold all our stuff for an international move and when we set up our next place we are starting from scratch, furniture-wise. Adding a statement chair or two is going to be one way I personalize our less expensive practical pieces.
These will look marvelous in any home and will be a conversation starter any time. Great picks, as always!
