I’m not really sure where September went, are you?? It certainly flew by for me. And now October is going to go just as quickly – especially because we’re headed to Hawaii! I know, I know, I haven’t even had a chance to recap my trip to Italy for you yet (promise, that’s coming soon! When you shoot over 1,000 pics in three days recaps can take awhile), but I’m so excited about this upcoming trip. It’s the first time we’ll be taking a vacation as a family of three. The first time our kiddo has been on big beach or touched warm ocean water. The first time I’m going to unplug in I don’t event remember how long….but I digress.
I’ve started a little planning, but I would so love any and all recommendations. We’re headed to Maui – a place I love but haven’t visited since 2004! I have a feeling a lot has changed since then. So if you have a favorite restaurant, favorite beach, favorite thing to do with tiny humans, anything – please let me know.
While I’m doing frantic research and furious 1-piece bathing suit shopping this weekend, I hope you have a a fabulous one!

Longtime reader but first time commenting. 🙂 I also went to Italy and Maui this year, so I had to write! Here’s some food recs:
Coconut’s Fish Cafe. Famous for their tacos. huge portions
Ferraro’s Ristorante at Four Seasons Resort. I went to a wedding reception dinner here and it was amazing food. The ahi was the best I’ve ever had.
Kihei Caffe. Great brunch food also huge portions
Ululani’s Hawaiian Shave Ice. Classic dessert
Fish Market Maui. Literally a fish market with a quick service restaurant inside it. Fresh and simple.
Other:
Wailea Beach Path. This is great for a stroll or run and goes by the resorts. There’s public parks at the north and south ends.
Andaz Maui. Beautiful, modern resort that’s worth a visit for a cocktail.
Thank you so much for the great recs Christine! I’m making note of every single one. We’re staying right next to the Andaz so I think we’re going to dropping in for drinks a lot!
Makawao is such a cute upcountry town, and while you’re up there, the Haliimaile General Store has the best Whiskey Sour w/ tamarind for some tropical vibes!

Have a fabulous weekend!
I’ve never been to Hawaii but always wanted to go. Next year for my birthday, I decided to either go to Paris or to Hawaii – I still can’t make up my mind. Those two destinations are obviously so different but it’s all about the season and timing.

You really can’t go wrong with either. Just have to decide if you want beach or city!
Looks like it’s a great weekend and month ahead 🙂
Here’s a mini-guide to all the best things to see and do in Lahaina, if that’s any help to you.
I’m hope you have a wonderful time out there.
