Don’t you just love it when life smacks you in the face? I’m facing a major transition today and wowza, is it stirring up some pretty strong emotion! It’s an interesting exercise to sit back and examine your definition of self. What pillars do you stack your identity on? Where do you find your sense of purpose? What do you take pride in? And what happens when one of those key pillars is stripped away? Can you still stand tall? Ask me in a couple weeks and I’ll do my best to let you know. I suspect more, and less cryptic(!), posts on this topic are to come. Hope you don’t mind.

But if you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted to entertain you this weekend, I’m quite confident any of these links will do the trick!

  3. Yes, you can refind and create new pillars. You can find new purpose. Your life will not look like it did before, it will be a whole new life. You CAN create a new life consciously, intentionally, carefully and it will be a reflect of who you are NOW. In one year, I went through the loss of my only child, a divorce that was already underway, retired from my career as a nurse, and relocated 300 miles away to an area I wasn’t familiar with. My life now is beautiful, peace-filled- and doesn’t look anything like my old life. You can do it. Let the process unfold, get a good therapist, and look for what is unequivocally YOU.
