I still can’t believe it, but skorts are in. Yes, that’s right! The skirt-in-the-front-shorts-in-the-back fashion statement has hit some of our favorite stores and is now the it piece to style among fashion bloggers around the world. Much like the overall, the skort is trending in a major way!
I love the way these fashion-forward ladies have sported their skorts, but I just don’t know if I can run to Zara for this It-Girl piece. I just picture myself as the yet-to-bloom adolescent rocking my skort – cuz it was the early-90’s and they were in people – and the memory is rather terrifying. I’m not sure I’m ready to relive it, even in a modern form.
What say you of the skort – is it a fun trend to try or are you staying away?

I bought a sport skort this spring as a back-up option for my trip to Asia… and I ended up wearing it every day that I wasn’t washing it. Functional+classy is timeless…

I try to stick to the rule “if you wore when the first time it was in fashion, there is a strong likelihood you shouldn’t wear it when it comes back into style…..”

Love that first image! Can’t believe this is back. I have fond memories of wearing uniform skorts in green plaid print in elementary school. Those were the days! haha

I have this skort and just love it! Not only does it look chic (and a little edgy) but it’s super comfy and I don’t have to worry about a short skirt and wardrobe malfunctions.

I absolutely love it – it’s become my staple summer item which you can wear by day, to a dinner or even partying! It’s so amazing when combined with a white blazer of the same colour and texture – like an ultra modern summer tuxedo.
It’s probably best we don’t all go out and buy them anyway, otherwise the trend (almost like overalls) will be absolutely trudged on, until we can’t stand the look of them. For now though, I’m loving skorts, and the clear and minimalistic style they create! (So we’ll see how long resisting one lasts!)
