Today’s home tour caught me mid-Pinning. Yes, it’s a black, white and wood color palette (my fave), yes, it features a timeless mix of antiques. There’s an air of California casual-comfort combined with an old-world sensibility. While it combines elements I’ve long loved, it does so fully fleshed out, comprehensive way that elevates it to the next level. This home has a cool grown-up feel and I’m all in.

This particular home belongs to Who What Wear co-founder & CEO, Katherine Power. (I’ve had a style-crush for a while now). While it resides in Los Angeles, for a moment you might think you’ve dropped into the English countryside or perhaps the south of France. But a few classically American details give it away. The oversized linen sofa. A bright white subway tile in the kitchen. A pair of timeless vintage club chairs. I can immediately see this home in a classic Nora Ephron movie (do you have a favorite location – I think mine is Diane Keaton’s house in Something’s Gotta Give). But I’d really like to get my house to this level of done. 2019 goal set.

  1. I don’t know why, but I am in LOVE with that kitchen. Not a huuuuge fan of the chairs by the kitchen island. Then again, I’m EXTREMELY picky. It took me nearly a month before my partner and I decided to pull the trigger on these amazing chairs for
    our kitchen (https://www.industrywest.com/octane-counter-stool.html) LOL

  2. does anyone know what color the white paint is???

  3. The epitome of restrained classic refinement . A Masterpiece.

  4. I love it, but Something’s Gotta Give is a Nancy Meyers movie–not Nora Ephron. 🙂

  5. Always the same iconic colors.: brown, black_grey and white. Old_fashioned dull pallette. Not even a hot colored object to heat up the atmosphere! It makes me wonder whether a sense of colors is not considered in Interior Design schools…

  6. Just awesome, so relaxing, love the color. Love it all

  7. Hi, where is the light fixture from in the living room? I love it! Beautiful design!

  8. The art in the bedroom ❤️❤️❤️
    Who is it by?

  9. Beautiful. Love the warmth achieved with a paired down look.

  10. Love all the textures brought into the black, white and dark wood design elements.

  11. I have many of these rooms pinned on my board- didn’t know it was the same house

  12. I believe there’s an error in the post! Nora Ephron movies are mentioned, but Something’s Gotta Give is a Nancy Meyers movie. I believe it was meant to list Meyers rather than Ephron as Meyers in known more for the interiors of her films. Though, Ephron was also a great filmmaker, with classics like When Harry Met Sally!

  13. This house is just so charming and elegant! I think it’s love at first sight for me – the color palette, the textures and furniture are all on point. Personally I really love the armchairs, it gives me the impression of a chic and vintage English Country house.

  14. Very considered and beautiful with nature and craft all around you!!
