Happy Friday friends! Has spring offically sprung where you are? I’ve heard the new season is slowly peeking its head out on the East Coast – and we’re about to enjoy crazy warm temps in San Francisco! And tonight it was light at 7:15 pm. Heaven. It’s making me want to bust out a so fresh and so clean all-white look. Sadly, I’m down to about three tops that fit at the moment so I’m going to have to put my sartorial dreams on hold for a couple more weeks {yup, we’re down to two weeks if you’re following along with the bump watch.} Instead, I’m lazer focused on nesting, aka {spoiler alert!} making major updates to the loft! Because who wouldn’t want to cram a complete redesign into the three weeks before their due date?! But the updates are moving along pretty dang well – you might have spied a little sneak peek on Instagram today – and of course all will be revealed when we’re done!

For now, here are a few fun links to keep you occupied while I spend the weekend folding onsies and sourcing light fixtures!

> I’ve been told new moms become incredibly efficient. Newborn or not, I’m incorporating these tips for increasing daily efficiency into my life

> Normally a travel addict, the trips and been few and far between these last 9 months! But what little wouldn’t want to immediately jet set? Cassandra’s recent trip to Morocco has me inspired – and suffering from serious wanderlust.

> I really really really don’t do pink, but this Melbourne home tour has me seriously rethinking things. It’s the perfect palette for spring.

> I’ve found the first pair of heels I’m buying post-pregnancy. And I may have already bought these flats!

> This light and the styling in this apartment just made us die a little inside.

> We’re always on the hunt for affordable art. This collection of black and white abstract art pieces are all under $160!

And if you missed them our most favorite recent posts include this, this and this! Till Monday!

Don’t you just love it when life smacks you in the face? I’m facing a major transition today and wowza, is it stirring up some pretty strong emotion! It’s an interesting exercise to sit back and examine your definition of self. What pillars do you stack your identity on? Where do you find your sense of purpose? What do you take pride in? And what happens when one of those key pillars is stripped away? Can you still stand tall? Ask me in a couple weeks and I’ll do my best to let you know. I suspect more, and less cryptic(!), posts on this topic are to come. Hope you don’t mind.

But if you’re looking for something a little more light-hearted to entertain you this weekend, I’m quite confident any of these links will do the trick!

This house remodel will definitely change your definition of barn living!

> The #DearMe campaign leading up to International Woman’s Day is full of thoughtful of advice – adore this piece of encouragement.

These Cornmeal Crusted Fish Tacos look amaze!

> Take a look at this Tumblr. You’re welcome.

This DIY via here will blow your socks off. Not kidding- look at both links.

> With a bit more time on my hands I’m excited to dive back into this blog, this blog, this blog & this blog.

> And just in case you missed it, we’re talking styling and COLOR, yes, color, HERE!

Well, our wedding week has come to a close. We hope you enjoyed it as much as we did! It’s always fun to indulge in a little bridal bliss, even if your wedding is long over {the husband and I are about to celebrate 5 years!} or if you’re no where near saying, “I Do”. It’s also time to say see ya to February {whoa, even for a short month that was fast}, but I’m excited about everything March has to bring. Spring is so close you can almost taste it. Colors seem a little brighter, energy begins to really percolate and any leftover winter doldrums start to fade away. I’m planning to harness all thAT March has to offer. Do you have any big plans for the new month??

Before we go, here are a few more wedding related links, just in case you didn’t already get your fill:

> For everyone who is coupled up out there, 19 Secrets of Staying Together.

> If classic glamour is your thang, then this wedding will be your jam!

And for those of you who could really care less about all things love & marriage related…

> Spoiler alert: I’m going to be making some major updates to the loft to make way for baby in the next four weeks! This is where you can find some of my current inspiration.

> And if you’re in need of even more interiors eye-candy, Brian Paquette has done it again!

> With motherhood banging down my door now, I’m thinking a hands free bag might be in order. What do you think of this modern version of the fanny pack?

> Did you know that Cassandra of coco+kelley fame and I are actually besties with a friendship that’s spanned more than 20 years now?! We shared the story of our friendship on CamilleStyles.com this week!

> And even after nearly eight years in, I’m still amazed at what it takes to run a blog as a business. If you’ve ever wondered about what work life is like in this crazy blog world, I shared a peek into my day to day life and attempted to give my best career advice with Meg Biriam here. My favorite part? Her series’ hashtag: #GSDgetshitdone

> Speaking of business, this 31 day Marketing Challenge sounds pretty awesome. I just signed up – you should too!

Who is ready to kick off their shoes and chill the f* out {pardon my french} this weekend?! I’m finally starting to get some pretty strong nesting vibes – better late than never! – so I suspect my weekend is going to be buried under piles of stuff, but I seriously cannot wait to do a major reorganize. Babies should come with a warning: amount of stuff required may be larger than it appears! The Apartment 34 office has started to resemble a Babies R Us stock room {sorry Bianca!}. But it’s definitely time to kick things into high gear – with only five weeks to go before we enter land of la baby, there’s a ton to get done. Thankfully, that means a lot of fun things to share with you like {spoiler alert}: doing a complete loft redesign! Yup – I’m just that crazy. And then there’s our house – that’s happening too albeit slowwwwwly. More to come soon. And then this kid… obviously, we’re going to be having a lot of fun in the coming weeks. Hope you’re excited to follow along!

But while I’m shifting through boxes of old makeup that I’ve kept for way too long and emptying those random cupboards that always seem to hold the most random stuff, here are some fabulous things to keep you occupied!

> ! If you’re constantly on your phone {guilty!!}, you’ll want to take a gander at this list of the best new apps. From an app called “Simple” to help you manage your finances, to an intriguing new dating app {move over Tinder!}, we’re curious to know which ones you’ll download this weekend!

> We’re all about supporting a brand that not only looks good, but is on a mission to do good. Not to mention that anything that Justina puts her flower-loving hands on is pure magic. That’s why we highly recommend you check out this new collection!

> One of our go-to online decor and lifestyle magazines has never looked better! We’re pouring over the endless inspiration and beauty on this site. Congrats to some of our favorite gals on all of their hard work with this makeover reveal! Beware: you’ll spend all weekend here.

> How about going from being a “dreamer” to a “doer?” Too often we’re pulsing around with so many big ideas in our heads and exciting new things we want to dabble in – photography, baking, be more active on social media – that we never put a finger on something. This article is the push you need to just DO IT.

> Since shopping for clothes is off the table, I’ve started amassing a serious accessories wishlist. This bag, these shoes, these earrings and these sunnies are all calling my name.

> Speaking of doing something…while you’re stuck inside due to freezing temps outside, get your hands moving and make something! Nothing is more gratifying than conquering a fabulous DIY for way less than you would have paid for it in the store. This roundup of the best of the best DIY’s is realllllly good. Might try my hand at the Marble Phone Case – after that last closet is cleaned out!

Hey now. Was this week a doozy, or was it just me? I blame the full moon. After nothing but frantic energy and nonstop action, I’m ready for some quality time in my sweats this weekend! With a nice rain storm predicted to hit San Francisco it feels like the perfect excuse to curl up and do very little at all. I’d actually love to finally crack this baby open again! I’m really trying to relish these final pre-baby weekends. I may never sleep in until 10AM again {yes, I’m like a teenager and actually do that these days. It’s glorious. No judgements}.

If you’re in similar hunker down kind of mood, here are the links that kept us occupied this week!

> If you’re still trying to figure our your Valentine’s Day plans, a romantic night at home is exactly how we want to spend, well, every night. This idea for a lovely Valentine’s Day dinner has us inspired to recreate this moody pink and red tablescape at home for our honeys!

> We’re so excited to be a part of this group of pinners. For small space ideas and inspiration, you’ll want to check these tips out from a fun new project Pinterest is calling Operation Apartment Pin Picks!

> Is it time to pack a hospital bag already?? I may or may not be freaking out that I’m only weeks away for oh, you know, having a kid! I guess I should really start thinking about getting ready. Luckily, this packing list has everything that I need and then some. Freshly baked cookies for the nurses? Such a sweet idea!

> For everyone who a.) can drink alcohol and b.) wants to get a little boozy with their babe come V-Day, this cute cocktail, complete with heart on top, is going to get the job done! Plus, now we want to try stenciling garnishes on all of our drinks!

> Ok, we’re totally in lust with this design trend: factory style metal framed windows and doors in actual homes. Have you seen this? They’re being used as walls, perfectly transparent and edgy or simply as modern and clean room dividers and we are ob-sessed with the look. Perhaps they should be incorporated into the new house somewhere…

> If you do plan to get dressed this weekend, one of our go-to home stores in the Bay Area is looking as good as ever. If you’re in the East Bay, you will regret not stopping at this lovely store- filled to the brim with decor goodness. We bet you can’t walk out empty handed.

PS – did you catch that we’re looking for two badass interns?! If you’ve got graphic design skills or are interested in learning about all things editorial then you MUST check this out. And if you’d be so kind, please spread the word too!

Well, despite my continued state of denial, this baby train is really starting to pick up speed. From our babymoon to finally starting to focus on baby-inspired decor, now it’s already time for my baby shower! This weekend I’m headed to Seattle to fete with my closet friends and family – and thankfully my girl Cassandra agreed to helm the entire operation. I’m so excited to see how she made our “fly me to the moon” mood board {above!} come to life. I have a very strong feeling the instragrammable moments are going to be epic!

Whether you’re headed on an adventure or simply plan to hunker down for a couple days of R&R I hope you have a great weekend!

> Since I’m going to want need add a new piece or two to the loft with all this rearranging for baby, I’d gladly throw this cute little stool into the mix! It’s made out of 100% Argentinean super yummy saddle leather and crafted to perfection by hand in Buenos Aires. Did I ever mention that BA is one of my all time favorite cities? This stylish beauty is sooooo finding a way into my home!!

> If you are in the market for new furniture, this is a must read. Emily breaks down her fave sofas doing all of the hard work of searching millions of websites for you, and all of them are surprisingly affordable while still being aesthetically fabulous. I’m bookmarking this really great resource for when we start sofa shopping for the house!

> With happy hour out the picture, I’m loving this list of 30 restaurants where women are either the head chef or owner. From Sqirl in LA to Tosca in SF and Maurice in Portland, these ladies are throwing it down in the kitchen. We’re making our must-visit eats list and you should too. Also, why not call the shots this Valentine’s day and book a reservation at one of these hot spots?!

> And since obsessing about food is the primary hobby for all pregnant women, this hilariously funny article is for all you health nuts, wannabe health nuts, dietitians, healthy food dabblers out there. Sarah, already a clean and healthy eater by nature, talks about everything she’s learned about food consumption and changing her eating habits over the years. You’ll get quite the kick out of it!

> If you had a rough day this week, this perspective and insight from Megan is powerful. Begin to shape tomorrow out of the time you have today and always remember that “today is not tomorrow.” We’re going to start the weekend fresh with a smile on our face. Thanks, Megan!

> Need a weekend project? We’re kind of ob-sessed with this DIY headboard! It blends art and design. It’s clean and modern. Masculine and feminine. With your favorite art print and plywood, you have a piece that’ll make the perfect impact in your bedroom!

If time flies when you’re having fun, then January 2015 must be the greatest month on record! How is February only a week away? How is there going to be a baby in the loft really dang soon?! How did the Seahawks find such a miraculous way to make it into the Superbowl, again?? It is all still a mystery to me, but I’m rollin’ with it. And I must say it all feels pretty dang good. Is everyone else digging these 2015 vibes too? I certainly hope you are! At the very least, I hope you enjoy a marvelous weekend. Here are a few fab things that caught our attention this week.

> Every woman in the world should just stop. All of your answers on how to take over the world are right here. These beauty secrets from a French girl {like, putting your lip balm on your eyelids!} are about to change your entire life. Because, you just can’t deny, French women kind of know what their doing when it comes to…everything.

> This week we talked about a cool winter fashion trend to try. I’m also loving this one. It’s making me reconsider chopping my hair again!

> Loved coming across this editorial spread– it may be from a couple of years ago, but it still is so relevant. To create a conversation about the state of equality, this photographer styled strangers in the same outfit, and while they may look the “same,” their differences are what make them beautiful.

> Ok, who listens to podcasts in the morning on the way to work?? If you don’t, they’re a great alternative to radio, which can get so redundant, and Serial is so crazy popular that you’re way behind the times if you don’t know about it. If you need something to fill your obsession between episodes, we’re dying to start these 5 podcasts to listen to, post-Serial!

> So I suffer from a lot of less-than-healthy envies, but I have a serious case of house envy right now. Not only am I jealous that Erica has completed her home revovation and we’re only just getting started, but her living room makeover is a serious stunner that is totally igniting my decorating itch! Anyone have a space they need styled? Anyone??

> Was traveling more one of your New Year’s resolutions for this year? First of all, this travel blog is a must-read. We love that every place visited by Pauline is given a tried and true test. So this list of the top 10 hotels of 2014 is, kind of like, the holy grail. Also, Barcelona may have just moved to the top of our wanderlust list!

> And speaking of travel, this is our BABYMOON weekend. Can you tell I’m a just a tad over-excited?? I promise to share recaps galore, but in the meantime you can get sneak peeks on Instagram here!

simplyviaapartment34

So we’re mid-way through January {whaa??} – how are those resolutions coming? Have you avoided sugar? {I have not}. Have you worked out everyday? {I have not}. Have you abstained from all alcohol and caffeine? {I have, but only because I’ve been required to for the last 7 months!}. But no matter! It’s not about whether you make it through self-deprivation for 30 days – it’s about where you’re investing your energy for this entire year! I’ve been loving all the very interesting and eerily similar perspectives on all the potential that 2015 holds – so I’ve rounded up some of my favorite articles along with a few fun challenges that are very realistic to take on. Oh and I’ve included some additional home accessories I’d love to sneak into the loft, as well as a totally frivilous recap of my favorite Golden Globe fashion because I am already dreaming of the outfit I will wear when my feet reveal themselves once more. Hope you have a marvelous weekend my dears!! xo

> I’m planning to start this 30 Day Minimalism Challenge. Small assignments everyday such as, “evaluate your last 5 purchases” or “no complaint day” are meant to teach you about yourself and help you reevaluate your lifestyle. You can start any day you’d like which makes it easy and so fun!

> On that same track, I’m excited to think a little differently this year. The online bubble, while fun, easy and addicting helpful, is definitely feeling more and more insular and predictable these days. That’s why I’m loving the perspective Cassandra is taking on 2015. Just this post alone is refreshing. I can’t wait to see what else she has up her sleeve.

> Did you know that some of the most creative ideas are born from boredom? Neither did I, but if you think about it, it makes sense. Your brain needs the downtime to come up with something truly original. That’s why I’m going to try NPR’s Bored and Brilliant challenge. It invovles actually measuring your smart phone use. I’m ready for the scary truth. Are you?

> What does your year ahead look like? For fun, take a look at these 2015 Horoscopes! It seems that the stars are always eerily accurate. Travel, love, career change…we’re kind of dying to know what’s in your future. So come back and tell us what you’re most excited about!

> Perhaps it’s no surprise, but the Nate Berkus Spring 2015 collection for Target is our latest obsession. Have you seen it yet? It’s so good. We’re loving the colors and textures and we’re totally snagging this wall hanging, this coral and gold accent table and this metallic, slightly boho pillow before they sell out!

> We’re dedicating the entire month of January to organizing our lives. This article on How To Purge Everything You Don’t Need in Your Home is full of great tips like, label every cord on your desk and in your “overflowing tech drawer” with a bread tag. We bet half of the cords you’re holding onto you no longer have the gadgets for!

> And finally, let’s talk red carpet at the Golden Globes! While the comedy was a little lackluster this year, the fashion was pretty on point. Who was your best dressed? There were a lot of style don’ts for us {*cough* J.Lo!} but Sienna Miller in Miu Miu? Yes! Common in Prada? Hell yes. And Katherine Heigl looked gorge in a navy Zac Posen dress. But if I was picking what I would wear it’d be this…See the entire recap of the star studded carpet here!

Julia_Leach_Domino_7

Obviously, today is Halloween, but I have to say it’s just not really my jam. So while San Francisco is overrun with costume-clad revelers (post San Francisco Giants Victory Parade no less), I think I’m going to hunker down with some good takeout, a good movie {it likely won’t even be scary – I’m partial to comedies}. Or I may just climb straight into bed and wait for the chaos to subside. If my bedroom looked like the one above {which belongs to style-maven Julia Leach}, I think I’d stay there indefinitely! What about you? Do you still love to rock a costume? Or are you taking your littles out on the trick-or-treat route? Do kids even still do that?? Our doorbell certainly hasn’t rung in years.

But don’t worry, just because I don’t overflow with Halloween spirit, that doesn’t mean I’m not going to hook you up. Here are a variety of fabulous fall-inspired links, some spooky, some super chic and all totally brilliant {in our humble opinion}. Happy clicking. And Happy Halloween!

> The construction and details of fall these pieces from my all time fave designer are Ba-na-nas.

> Heirloom pumpkins, acorns, Ice King Protea? This seasonal floral arrangement is perfection.

> Love this idea of using dry ice for a Halloween inspired cocktail!

> Crushing on this sexy, new way to style an oversized sweater this Fall!

> What are your thoughts on this black & white bathroom? DIE.

> Madewell x Sezane?! This knockout French brand was just brought stateside! Yessss.
